Jered Sprecher

Jered Sprecher is an artist who makes paintings that abstract the landscape to explore the precarious relationship between nature and technology. He has had solo exhibitions in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles and at the Knoxville Museum of Art. Awards he has received include a Guggenheim Fellowship, Bailey Opportunity Grant, and a Tennessee Arts Commission Artist Fellowship. He has been an artist-in-residence at the Chinati Foundation and the Irish Museum of Modern Art. Sprecher lives in Knoxville and is a Professor of Art at the University of Tennessee.
